High Frequency Hearing Loss Treatments
High frequency hearing loss is one of the most common forms of hearing loss on the planet. Why? Because this kind of hearing impairment is not just something that inflicts mostly older people, but effects millions upon millions of people every day, and from all backgrounds.Quite awhile ago we asked for some hearing aid reviews from users (or people who have helped to their family members with hearing problems) so that we can better help our visitors understand the different options available regarding the different kinds of hearing aids available on the market in the different kinds of hearing loss to contend with. Unfortunately, we have not had many people fill out our form below to help of others in the same boat, so we have been forced to update our hearing aid pagesĀ with new information ourselves. One of the problems with hearing aids is that everyone has a completely unique set of circumstances and different problems with their hearing and their air canals. What may work for one person may not work for another.
On top of this problem is that most high frequency hearing loss comes from a wide variety of circumstances. It may be that you were exposed to a loud gunshot close to your year drum at one point in your life, or perhaps you were a rocker playing in a band for years with no hearing protection and the amplifiers finally did their damage. Maybe you are just a music lover and have made the mistake of putting the headset on too loud and damaging your ears overtime. You could be simply elderly and lost a great deal or great percentage of your high frequency hearing overtime as your body ages. Whatever the reason trying to repair high frequency loss can be difficult.
The first thing that I did (yes, I have significant high frequency hearing loss in both of my years due to many years as a musician on the road and in the studio) was to simply stop any activity where the offending loud noises come into play. If you work and a place where there is a lot of offending noise at loud levels than you must start using your headset or earplugs all the time or you risk letting your years get even worse. So the first step is to never let a loud noise penetrate your eardrums again – never again.
The other thing you must do is get treatment for your high frequency hearing loss. There are different treatments although market and different treatments that your doctor may prescribe, but generally speaking, your hearing usually cannot be completely restored to its original level of hearing all frequencies, specifically the high ones.
One thing you should do if you are suffering from high frequency hearing loss is go to the doctor and have your ears cleaned thoroughly. Get all about wax and gunk out of your ears and away from your eardrum. This way you can the least improve your hearing to the best it can possibly be under the circumstances of your personal hearing loss.
Try and seek out places and moments of the day where you can find absolute silence and try to focus your energies on your years and what you are hearing. If you avoid all noise over a period of one week you would and should see some small improvement in how well you hear higher frequencies. You can also do a test to see if your hearing has improved and what I would call your downtime.
It’s very important that you seek out this so-called “downtime” to give your ears a much-needed rest. This is the only way you’re high frequency hearing can actually improve, if you completely cut out any sources of offensive of loud noise. You must learn to turn the TV down even if you can’t hear it very well. You must learn to turn down the radio with a car even if it seems that you can’t hear very well. This is the adjustment it takes for your hearing to learn its new rules.
Your eardrums in your hearing facility are very smart and naturally intuitive meaning that your years will recover to some degree and they will get used to the relative volume in which he listened to things at. So what I’m saying here is that if you turned down the radio and you turned down the TV to a lower level which may seem a bit annoying to you because it is a lower level, but your ears will ask a get used to the lower levels or time and once again your hearing begins improve.
